BYOB Clean Up
For a ‘Bring Your Own Broom’ event we give a call to volunteers to help us clean up a space. It is usually a one-time clean up event. However, we try to make our volunteers realize that a one-time event does not fulfill their responsibility. We try to make these events a learning opportunity where the volunteers learn about the hurdles in waste management. For example: uncooperative community members/neighbors; unkind strangers who instead of helping make things worse; lack of facilities such as garbage cans, systems; political influences; mafia, scavengers etc. We are of the opinion that once people know about the issues, they can work towards overcoming them.
Education
We engage children and students as young as 4 year old and as old as high school students in teaching them about sustainable practices and waste management in general. Our aim is to have informed citizens from an early stage. This will also help remove the stigma that the waste management industry is not a viable career path to pursue.
Talks
We give talks at offices, schools, universities, events, streets etc. We are invited to some, while we hold other talks. During these talks we inform people about what we do and the issues the waste management industry faces as a whole. We also inform audiences about how they can maintain sustainable practices.
