GarbageCAN takes a three pronged approach to the management of waste:

- Recycling management: To enable those who want to start recycling at home or work.
- Comprehensive waste management: To enable homes, businesses, festivals, and other institutions to manage their waste wisely in order to reduce their environmental footprint.
